Join Us for the Winter Music Recital – Sunday, January 25, 2026!
There's something magical about watching a child take a deep breath, place their fingers on the keys, and play their heart out for an audience of smiling faces. That moment of courage, focus, and joy is exactly what our Winter Music Recital is all about: and we want you and your family to experience it firsthand.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 25, 2026, because Musicolor NYC is hosting three free performances at PS 321 Lower School Auditorium right here in Brooklyn. Whether your child is already taking music lessons or you're just curious about what beginner piano lessons might look like for your little one, this event is the perfect opportunity to see our community in action.
And the best part? It's completely free and open to the public.

Three Performances, One Unforgettable Day
We know Brooklyn families are busy. That's why we're offering three showtimes so you can pick what works best for your schedule:
10:00 AM – Perfect for early risers and families with younger children
12:00 PM (Noon) – A midday musical break before weekend adventures
3:00 PM – Wind down your Sunday with an inspiring afternoon show
Each performance features students of all ages and skill levels: from tiny beginners just learning their first notes to more advanced players showing off months (or years!) of hard work. No matter which showtime you choose, you'll witness the same warmth, encouragement, and celebration that defines the Musicolor Method.
Why Bring Your Child to Watch?
If your child hasn't started music lessons yet, you might be wondering: Why would I bring them to watch other kids perform?
Great question. Here's the honest answer: seeing is believing.
When children watch their peers: kids their own age, from their own neighborhood: confidently perform on stage, something clicks. They start to think, "Maybe I could do that too." That spark of inspiration is often more powerful than any brochure or website description.

At Musicolor NYC, we've seen this happen time and time again. Parents bring their curious (or skeptical!) child to a recital, and by the end, that child is tugging on their sleeve asking, "Can I try piano?"
Our recitals are designed to be encouraging, not intimidating. There's no pressure, no judgment: just a room full of supportive families cheering on every performer, whether they nail every note or need a little help along the way. That's the environment we've built, and it's the environment your child will experience if they join our music family.
What Makes a Musicolor NYC Recital Different?
If you've been to other music recitals, you might expect rows of nervous kids, tense silence, and polite applause. Our recitals? They're a little different.
We celebrate effort, not perfection.
Every child who performs receives recognition for their hard work. We cheer for the five-year-old playing "Twinkle Twinkle" just as enthusiastically as we cheer for the ten-year-old tackling a more complex piece. Because at Musicolor NYC, we know that confidence is built through encouragement, not criticism.
Our approach to early childhood music education focuses on building a strong foundation: emotionally and musically. We use the Musicolor Method, which introduces sound, color, and pattern before jumping into traditional notation. This means kids feel successful from the very first lesson, and that confidence shines through when they step onto the stage.
Meet Our Teachers and See Our Community
One of the best parts of attending the Winter Music Recital is the chance to meet our incredible teaching team. Our instructors will be there throughout the day, happy to answer questions, share stories about their students' progress, and chat about what music lessons brooklyn families can expect from Musicolor NYC.
We're not just a music school: we're a community. Many of our families have been with us for years, and the recital is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate. You'll see parents snapping photos, siblings cheering from the audience, and teachers beaming with pride as their students shine.
If you're considering beginner piano lessons, guitar lessons, or voice lessons for your child, this is your chance to see what our program is really like. No sales pitch, no pressure: just a genuine look at the supportive, joyful environment we've created.
Perfect for Families Exploring Music Education
Not sure if your child is ready for music lessons? That's okay! The Winter Music Recital is a no-commitment way to explore what early childhood music education can look like.
Here's what you can expect:
A welcoming atmosphere – Bring the whole family, including younger siblings and grandparents
Real student performances – See kids of all ages and skill levels in action
Face time with teachers – Ask questions and get a feel for our teaching style
Inspiration for your child – Let them see what's possible when they start learning music
Many parents tell us that attending a recital was the moment they decided to sign up for lessons. There's something about seeing the pride on a child's face after they perform that makes you want that experience for your own kid.
