Musicolor Early Foundations (Ages 2–4)


Give your little one the best possible start in music!
Our one-on-one Musicolor Early Foundations class introduces young children (ages 2–4) to the joy of music through story, song, rhythm, and movement—all rooted in our award-winning Musicolor Method® curriculum. Each private session is tailored to your child’s pace and personality, building focus, coordination, listening skills, and a love of learning.

Your child will explore sounds, patterns, and basic musical concepts in a playful, nurturing setting with one of our specially trained teachers. All materials are included.

Note for Adult Students

Adult lessons are available during morning or late evening hours, as our 3pm-7pm slots are reserved for children.

Our trial package ($185) includes 2 half-hour lessons, plus a $35 registration fee.

Afterward, lessons are scheduled in packages of 5, to be used within 12 months, for $495.

The program is designed to make learning convenient and comfortable for families by providing personalized instruction at home rather than through a traditional neighborhood studio location. They also offer online lessons through Zoom for students who prefer virtual learning.

Do Crown Heights music students perform at recitals, and where are they held?

Yes! We hold 2 recitals every year at the PS 321 Lower School Auditorium on President Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in Park Slope. This year, our recitals are scheduled for January 25, 2026, and June 6, 2026. Recitals are a wonderful milestone for Crown Heights students, a real stage, a real audience, and a genuine sense of accomplishment. Because our entire teaching approach is built on confidence first, students arrive at recital day feeling genuinely prepared and excited rather than nervous or overwhelmed.

How do Crown Heights music lessons actually help build my child's confidence beyond just playing an instrument?

Can Crown Heights families enroll mid-semester, or do they have to wait for a new term for music lessons?

You do not have to wait! We welcome new Crown Heights families throughout the year. When you enroll mid-semester, your tuition is simply prorated based on the remaining lessons in the current term, so you only pay for what you actually receive. There is no need to wait for September to get started. The sooner your child begins, the sooner they start building confidence and falling in love with music!
